Our First Past Master and Most Excellent Master Degrees
December 28, 2008
On Tuesday, December 23, 2008, Meridian Chapter, U.D. conferred our first Past Master and Most Excellent Master Degrees upon candidates Robert Garcia and Marc Merman. Robert is our own Candidate, and we are doing courtesy work for Marc in behalf of Reames Chapter No. 28.
Present for our business meeting were:
Larry Stokes, E.H.P.
Dalvin Hollaway, King Pro-Temps.
Dick Strong, Scribe Pro-Temps.
Jeff Day, Secretary, and Captain of the Host Pro-Temps.
Tim Randall, Principal Sojourner.
Dave Sherman, Royal Arch Captain.
Weather conditions did not permit anyone from Grants Pass or Eugene to attend this evening due to ice on the roads.
For the Past Master Degree, our team consisted of:
Jeff Day, Right Worshipful Master.
Dave Sherman, Senior Warden.
Dalvin Hollaway, Junior Warden.
Larry Stokes, Senior Deacon.
Tim Randall, Junior Deacon.
The Lecture was delivered by Larry Stokes, and the Charge by Jeff Day.
For the Most Excellent Master Degree, our team consisted of:
Jeff Day, Right Worshipful Master.
Dave Sherman, Senior Warden.
Larry Stokes, Senior Deacon.
The Lecture was delivered by Larry Stokes, and the Charge by Jeff Day.
Larry also spoke extemporaneously on the relation of the ceremonies of this degree to the customs of the Jews.
We regret having to confer multiple degrees on the same day, without requiring candidates to prove up, as this feels contrary to our European Concept ideals, but we are required to confer all four degrees before the Grand York Rite Sessions in order to satisfy our U.D. requirements and obtain a Charter. The candidates have agreed to prove their proficiency in each of the degrees at some future time.
